Hodnota normálního krevního tlaku je v produktivním věku 120/80 torr. Zatím co u dětí a mladistvých může být normální hodnota trochu nižší, s přibývajícím věkem naopak stoupá. Každopádně se jedná o malé výkyvy od uvedené hodnoty. Normální krevní tlak zajišťuje správný transport krve, kyslíku a živin v organismu, což pomáhá zajišťovat optimální funkci všech orgánů a celého těla. Jsou-li cévy zdravé a čisté (nezúžené), většinou normálnímu krevnímu tlaku nestojí nic v cestě.
